This doctoral project investigates how hermetic metaphysics informs contemporary ancestral healing across North Africa and Europe. Bridging archival study with ethnographic fieldwork, it analyzes temple records, ritual manuals, oral histories, and practitioner interviews to trace lineages of practice and theory. The study engages decolonial and history-of-ideas approaches to clarify categories of spirit, body, and knowledge transmission. Findings will contribute an empirically grounded, theoretically rigorous account of hermetic thought-in-practice, relevant to religious studies, anthropology, and philosophy of religion.
